NOTE: As of August 2008, i have backdated my journal and made it mostly friends only. I've had some difficulty with crazy peeps. Public posts are not indicative of my journal. If you would like to be added, please message me.
Utinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant!
Who the hell am I? I'm a girl who enjoys liminal space a bit too much..agnostic transhumanist alchemist with a penchant for living life on the edge.
I am a magician, a scientist, a philosopher, a wild woman dancing in the rain. I am a virgin and a harlot. I am life. To dance with me is to dance with the winds of change. I am always moving, thinking, becoming, transforming.. I am introspective and pensive. I am spontaneous and whimsical. I am fearless and constantly push myself to my limits. I am loyal and will stand at my friends sides through thick and thin. I'm willful and stubborn..but can be walked on by the people I love. I tend to have a penchant for grandiose rituals and memetic revolutions and don't forget perpetually starting cults. Myers Briggs INTJ, Enneagram 1w2 though I like the myers briggs better. :) I am philosophical and will chat for hours on just about any unanswerable question.
I spend a lot of time thinking about unanswerable questions and I'm just arrogant to think I might be able to figure them out. What is the nature of reality? Is there inherent meaning in life? Are ethics universal or relative? Regardless of that answer, what are my own values and why do I value them? Is anything eternal or is the nature of life fundamentally ephemeral? Why does the ephemerality of existence bother me so? How did consciousness originate? What is the nature of qualia? Do spirits really exist or are they only projections in our mind? What is the nature of love? Is there such a thing as an honest politician? What does utopian society look like? How do we go about creating one right now? Should stem cell research be legal? When is war justified? Do three wrongs make a right? Is Lisa Simpson going to grow up and be a lesbian? Is the moon really made of cheese?
Yes.. I wonder about these things too! :)
So here I am..
My journal is in no way a complete embodiment of my being but it might just give you a taste of one girl addicted to a drug called apotheosis or maybe it's just Omphaloskepsis, you decide.
You are sociable, outgoing, energetic, and lively. You prefer to be around people much of the time. Stressful and frustrating situations can sometimes be upsetting to you, but you are often able to get over these feelings and cope with these situations. Novelty, variety, and change spice up your life and make you a curious, imaginative, and creative person. You have some concern with others' needs, and are generally pleasant, sympathetic, and cooperative. You are reasonably reliable, organized, and self-controlled.

Some quotes of the moment:
"I admit that my visions can never mean to other men as much as they do to me. I do not regret this. All I ask is that my results should convince seekers after truth that there is beyond doubt something worth while seeking, attainable by methods more or less like mine. I do not want to father a flock, to be the fetish of fools and fanatics, or the founder of a faith whose followers are content to echo my opinions. I want each man to cut his own way through the jungle." -Aleister Crowley
"Never apologize for showing feeling. When you do so, you apologize for the truth." -Benjamin Disraeli
"The intelligent man finds almost everything ridiculous, the sensible man hardly anything." - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749 - 1832)
"The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed." -Albert Einstein
"The great work must inevitably be obscure, except to the very few, to those who like the author himself are initiated into the mysteries. Communication then is secondary: it is perpetuation which is important. For this only one good reader is necessary." -Henry Miller
"First say to yourself what you would be; and then do what you have to do." - Epictetus
"The Great Ones are initiated by God Himself, and they prove their initiations not by their claims, but in their works." Sufi - Inayat Khan
"Reality is the beginning not the end,Naked Alpha, not the hierophant Omega,Of dense investiture, with luminous vassals." -Wallace Stevens
"A person will worship something, have no doubt about that. We may think our tribute is paid in secret in the dark recesses of our hearts, but it will out. That which dominates our imaginations and our thoughts will determine our lives, and our character. Therefore, it behooves us to be careful what we worship, for what we are worshipping we are becoming." -Emerson
Science is not enough, religion is not enough, art is not enough, politics and economics are not enough, nor is love, nor is duty, nor is action however disinterested, nor, however sublime, is contemplation. Nothing short of everything will do. - Huxley
Can we actually “know” the universe? My God, it’s hard enough finding your way around in Chinatown. — Woody Allen
"All truly wise thoughts have been thought already thousands of times; but to make them truly ours, we must think them over again honestly, till they take root in our personal experience." – Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
We must stitch up what has been torn apart, render justice imaginable in the world which is so obviously unjust, make happiness meaningful for nations poisoned by the misery of this century. Naturally, it is a superhuman task. But tasks are called superhuman when men take a longtime to complete them, that is all. -- Albert Camus
